Richard Meichtry has an extensive background of hands-on
management in the commercial aviation industry. His exposure to highly diverse
multi-cultural environments has facilitated the development of a result
driven, effective management and leadership style that allowed for proven
outstanding results.
A
national of Switzerland, he joined Swissair in 1969 where he held various
managerial and executive positions in Switzerland and abroad. Mr. Meichtry’s
postings included Greece, the United States and Hong Kong as well as several
African countries. In those assignments, his portfolio involved responsibility
for the management of Swissair’s entire organization, including Sales and
Marketing, Finances, Human Resources, Ticketing, Reservation and Operation.
Additionally, the maintenance and expansion of relationships with respective
Governments, Industry and Customers also fell under his responsibility.
He
successfully introduced Total Quality Management into his organizations, and
developed assessment systems that were later adapted on a broad basis. With
communication, integrity and a strong social competence, Mr. Meichtry achieved
a quality driven and customer-oriented attitude in staff to take ownership of
and in their activities.
His ability to manage complex business situations in a structured and transparent
manner, and provide strategic orientation to facilitate an effective use of
resources available, led to his appointment to work with South African Airways
to build up and manage the strategic cooperation with Swissair.
Mr.
Meichtry formed GMCS GmbH to actualize his desire to transfer his acquired
knowledge and passion to train people and organizations for superior
performance. This is achieved by offering focused management and leadership
solutions to the corporate market thereby providing effective leadership
skills for sustained profitability in today’s rapidly changing competitive
landscape.
